Back to Obama.Bibi Netanyahu treated him like a doormat. The Senate just shot down his "don't ask don't tell"deal and his Dream Act ( or Fill The Military with Brown People Act) . After climate negotiations crumble in Cancun any part of the world that didn't hate us after the Wikileaks will now. Bill Mc Kibben still won't use the word capitalism but he looked as pathetic as Obama when he talked about 350.org. Oh yeah, then there is the capitulation on the Afghanistan withdrawal date.
Here on the sidelines it is easy to quarterback ( like these sports metaphors?) but there isn't much else to do but wait. I was just down in Palm Springs California last week and the chi chi art galleries, jewelry stores and boutiques are hurting, empty shop windows all down Paseo Drive. So that tax break comes just in the nick of time. And while it drives the last nail in the coffin for Social Security, you won't have to worry about any death taxes or death panels.

Obama would never call out Sarah for a debate, if that's what you mean, because he would probably be afraid she'd make him look like an idiot. That is especially true if she wins the GOP nomination. Sarah Palin would be and is the Democrats worse nightmare. Can't you see that? Ask yourself what I think should be a reasonable question. If she is as stupid and unqualified as they like to say she is, why do they waste so much time denigrating her?
Ducky, you keep harping on Obama's supposed right wing policies but what you're saying isn't based on present realities. Suppose Bernie Sanders was president. Or Dennis Kucinich. Or anybody that you would concede is to the left. What do you think they could do. Do you think they could implement a single payer health care system just by declaring it into law and then assigning Congress to work out the details? Sorry, that's not how it works here.
I'm not one of these that thinks Obama is the reincarnation of Lenin or Marx, but he is certainly a European style Socialist Democrat, which is also how Bernie Sanders defines himself.
But its one thing to be a Senator and support that stuff. Being President here is not like it is in Cuba or Venezuela. Our system was purposely set up to prevent any person from acquiring that much power, and I think you know that.
But anytime I say capitalism you hear Ayn Rand, so I guess its only natural that when I say socialism you hear Leon Trotsky. There is a matter of degrees at work here.
