Better healthcare maybe, but same wars and third world misery. All that obvious corruption just allows them to play good cop / bad cop. The structural inequality remains behind the veil.
Israel's settlements, Dodds pathetic "Bank Reform", the unions Employee Free Choice Act, mass teacher firings, snubbing of the Black Progressive Caucus, the humiliations continue to pile up for the Hopey Changey crowd. How much more can they take?

He has been far more effective instituting the corporatist agenda than Bush could have dreamed.
Pushing billions upon billions to the insurance companies (just what does their profit benefit anyone but themselves?), money to the drug companies, Wall Street making merry again.
This education push is more than Bush could have hoped for. They don't give two warm farts in hell about poor kids. They want education back in the sweet loving arms of "the market". The rest is just PR for the suckers.
And the left can't bring themselves to say how badly they were snookered. And on top of it you get the tea baggers calling this corporatist a commie.
Nothing could have been more devastating to the possibility of a left movement in this country than this disaster.
