Day 4

Occupy Missoula has gotten a little soggier (rained all night) and a little more complicated. Which is only natural given a new social body is being invented day by day. I have noticed that a small band of core "facilitators" keep working the Assemblies, people with knowledge and experience which could all too easily turn into coordinator power.

The biggest issue has been messaging: What Are We and What Do We Want? If we were simple people like some I know we could just say : Kill All Rich People/Commies! But these gathered are generally thoughtful people who realize the world is complex. Trouble makers such as myself and Che Bob tried to introduce an anti-capitalist critique but most people wanted to follow New York's lead and single out Corporations.

This is problematic and no doubt a great relief to the ruling class that heard Zizek's speech on Sunday. (Liberals were critical as well, demonstrating which side they will choose when push comes to shove). But the problem with fighting corporatism is the end game. Do you wish to re-try Santa Clara County vs Southern Pacific? (county where I was born, by the way) Do you want to re-try Dartmouth College vs Woodward and go after their person-hood? Interestingly, the guy who drafted our message statement is a lawyer. Does he want to argue this before the Supremes?

Or do you just want go after Limited Liability or Charters? I think this strategy is a dead-ender for movement building and that in fact, corporations are a straw man. My local barbershop is a corporation. They sell stock and retain the right to transfer ownership. You can become a corporation yourself for fifty bucks in most states. Do we just hate big corporations? How big? Just rich ones? How rich? This focus on corporations is the result of populists like Bill Moyers or Thom Hartman who believe capitalism can be reformed.

16,000 children will die today of causes related to malnutrition while tons of food is wasted or lies rotting. This is not because of corporations but because of capitalism.

I suggest instead we think of Wall Street or Corporations as symbolic of capitalisms propensity to hollow out democracy. It's not the money junkies themselves, but the structure they represent. Now is the time to re-claim the imagination the system has crushed (primarily speaking to progressives), to give up on the obscene Profit System and, to quote Zizek again, not be "afraid to want what you desire."

If Herman Cain calls you anti-American for being anti-capitalist all the better. He is a bigger moron than Rudy and Trump and Palin put together!

Slavoj Zizek....lol!

You all need a new slogan.

"Stupider than '68!"

You know you've been had when the gravediggers co-opt your movement. It was Marcuse and Sartre in '68. You've gone from Frenchmen to Slovene/Pollocks.

*shakes head*

We're still waiting for an inspirational message from job creator No. 1, the man who will single handed save laissez-faire capitalism ... Herman Cain.

Hates Muslims, wants to raise taxes on the poorest 20% and sat on his ass cracking beers and watching porn with Clarence Thomas during the movement.

What's not to like about this guy, Farmer?

Be a sport, Farmer. Which rabies radio bottom feeder started the meme that he saved jobs by shrinking the size of Godfather's pizza?

Come to think of it. After Michelle Obama pissed off all the right wing by trying to promote a healthier diet and not letting school kids guzzle half gallons of soda a day, this has got to be your guy. Another opportunist peddling the crap American diet. Wow, he must be Schumpeter's idea of the innovative capitalist that can save the system.
Just think the guy sold pizzas what an innovator. And burgers ... here have a Baggers Deluxe, three patties, half pound of cheese, quarter pound of bacon, slathered in mayonnaise, only 3600 calories, all of them from fat.

Guy will kill everyone so young he'll resolve the health insurance issue.

You on board, Farmer? I know he's Beak's first choice since Ghouliani isn't running.

Well the demonstrations in Boston have attracted at least 100, trout. That's the number that got arrested after Menino claimed he was going to put the cops on a leash.

I've been down at the Catholic Worker house preparing meals for the demonstrators. It's a pretty diverse crowd and I imagine it morphs all over the country. A lot of environmentalists here and a surprising number opposing the free trade (LMAO) agreements.
It's good that these groups start talking to each other. I think this movement has some legs, we'll see.

The meme DOES sound pretty familiar (though w/o the Godfather Pizza parts)... could it be the same meme as... from the... *gasp*... OBAMA Administration???

And am I on-board the Cain Express? I'm on-board every R train headed towards DC except the Romney Express. If he wins the nomination, you can keep Pennsylvania Ave. for another four so far as I'm concerned.

I think this movement has some legs... Some jokes ARE timeless. This just might be one of them.

btw - Weren't you supposed to be 'jumping to the oldies' w/Michelle Obama today? They'll never break the record w/o the duckman! And I'll light a candle for protesters. It's going to start getting chilly soon.

I hope you clowns do turn violent so that the reaction will be severe and quick. The hard hat protests ended the Vietnam protests and the end will be more final.

The comments of Cain are on target. Cain states the truth about Commies who deserve to be denaturalized and deported.

The Duck is much like Yeagley in that it is Okay to use racial rhetoric directly from Stormfront so long as it is directed at a Black Person who thinks the Commie
Plantation sucks.

Merman Cain doesn't go far enough.

Commies are losers, nerds, dorks, freaks and morons. I reminded the folks in NYC not to blame the rest of society that they are losers and freaks. Commies do best in communal settings like prisons and mental health facilities.

It is not societies fault that communists are unemployable. You freaks lead a sick alternative lifestyle and provide nothing of worth anywhere on the planet.

Hugo needs you so kindly get out of the USA and take as many of your fellow commie freaks and losers as the banana boat can handle.
